EVERY THING WE SEE IS PAST HISTORY BECAUSE OF THE SPEED OF LIGHT BEING 186,000 MILES PER SECOND.

In WWW.SPACENOODLES.COM, free outer space greeting cards by noted SCIFI Adventure Author, Hank Curci, who holds a Masters Degree in Mathematics from Stanford University, Hank discusses the speed of light and what effect is has on our observations of outer space.

When we look up at the night sky and see the stars, what we are seeing is what the star looked like when it first sent us it's light.

If the star is a thousand light years away then we are seeing what the star looked like 1,000 years ago.

If the star blew up 500 years ago we would not know that it was gone for another 500 years.

The beautiful Centauri Globular Star Cluster, 17,000 light years from here, is where Hank Curci's SPACENOODLES characters come from.
If there is intelligent life there it would take 17,000 years for the message to get to Planet Earth.

This means the message was sent 14,000 years before the birth of King Tut in 1100 BC., 15,400 years before the fall of Rome in 400AD etc.

Hence, communicating with intelligent life in outer space would be literally impossible since all the people on both ends of the message would long since be dead by the time the message arrived.
